         Sigiriya is one of the most famous historical places in Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It was built by king Kashyapa in the 5th century. He chose this rock to build his palace and fortress. One of the most attractive features of Sigiriya is its frescoes. These ancient paintings of beautiful women, drawn on the rock walls. Sigiriya is now a UNESCO world heritage site and attracts many tourists from around the world. Sigiriya is a wonderful place that shows the beauty and greatness of ancient Sri Lanka.
